About RacePaceKit
RacePaceKit is a small, focused tool that does one job well: it turns a race goal into a plan you can actually execute — your pace, your kilometer-by-kilometer splits, a pace band you can print and wear, and a goal card you can share.
Why it exists
Most pace calculators stop at a single number. But nobody races an average: you race splits, one marker at a time. The tools that did offer splits or pace bands were scattered across different sites, cluttered with popups, or locked behind signups. We wanted the whole race-day kit on one fast page that works on a phone at an expo the night before the race.
Who builds it
RacePaceKit is built and maintained by an independent developer and recreational runner — not a media company. That means the site stays small, fast and honest: certified race distances, transparent math (the formula is right on the homepage) and pacing guidance based on well-established, uncontroversial principles of distance running, like the physiological cost of starting too fast.
How it is funded
The site is free and has no premium tier. It is supported by advertising. Ads never change the numbers the calculator gives you, and your inputs are processed in your browser — see the privacy policy for details.
Accuracy
Distances use official certified lengths (a marathon is 42,195 m; a half is 21,097.5 m). Paces are rounded to the nearest second for readability, while elapsed times always sum to your exact goal. If you ever spot a number that looks wrong, please tell us — we would genuinely like to know.
